Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

The Short Version

All DevToolbox tools run 100% in your browser. No data you enter into any tool is ever sent to our servers or any third party. We don't track you across the web. We don't sell data. We use minimal analytics to understand how the site is used.

1. Who We Are

DevToolbox is operated by Daniel Camilleri, based in Vienna, Austria. For contact details, see our Impressum.

2. Data Processing in Tools

Every tool on DevToolbox processes data entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript. This means:

  • No data you type, paste, or upload is transmitted to our servers
  • No data is stored on our servers or in any database
  • No data is shared with third parties through our tools
  • When you close your browser tab, your data is gone β€” we never had it in the first place

Exception: The SRI Hash Generator tool can optionally fetch external URLs to calculate integrity hashes. This fetch request goes directly from your browser to the target URL β€” it does not pass through our servers.

3. Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly analytics (such as Google Analytics or a self-hosted alternative) to understand how the site is used. This may collect:

  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referral source (how you found us)
  • Browser type and screen size
  • Country (approximate, based on IP)

We do not use analytics to identify individual users or track you across other websites. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information through analytics. You can manage your consent preference at any time via the cookie consent banner at the bottom of the page.

4. Advertising

We may display advertisements through Google AdSense or similar advertising networks. These services may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

5. Cookies

Our tools themselves do not use cookies. However:

  • Analytics cookies: If we use analytics, they may set cookies to distinguish unique visitors
  • Advertising cookies: If ads are displayed, advertising networks may set cookies for ad targeting
  • Essential cookies: We may use cookies to remember your preferences (such as theme settings)

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not affect the functionality of our tools.

6. Third-Party Services

We may use the following third-party services:

  • Vercel: Website hosting (processes server logs including IP addresses)
  • Google AdSense: Advertising (may collect data per Google's privacy policy)
  • Google Fonts: Font delivery (requests sent to Google servers)

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to restriction: You can request that we limit processing of your data
  • Right to data portability: You can request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object: You can object to processing of your data

Since our tools don't collect personal data, most of these rights are satisfied by design. For any requests regarding analytics or advertising data, please contact us.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal data we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of your data. We do not sell personal data.

9. Children's Privacy

DevToolbox is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of DevToolbox after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
